Some knowledgeable programs to watch out these vacations.
Its vacation time and everyone finds some time to stretch out of daily routine and do some leisure activity. But because of scorching sun and dry bashes of loo in this part of world, you just sit in front of TV and kill your leisure time. Nowadays, this 'idiot box' has nothing much to offer. Some non sense programs, some reality shows which are far from reality and as usual most stupid movies. Other try to find solace in daily programs of discovery, nat geo, history channel etc., but these are too busy with idiot american programs like pawn stars, man vs wild, man vs expert, magic shows and so on....Then the question arise WHAT TO WATCH??.........
Here are some picks for students to spare their valuable leisure time and fill their brain "hard drive" with something worth knowing........
- OZZY AND DRIX
This show is best for cartoon lovers and is very useful for imaging the inside fight mechanism of a body. Ozzy is a white blood cell with little respect for authority. He works as a private-eye in the city of Hector. He and Drix were originally police officers from the city of Frank, the character portrayed in the movie, although they were transferred to Hector through a mosquito while chasing a scarlet fever virus aptly named Scarlet. As most crime-fighting heroes do, Ozzy has a nearly unlimited amount of smart remarks that he uses frequently when fighting viruses, as well as sarcasm for anyone else. Click here to watch this show.
2. WORLD WARS
For those who want to learn more about world history in an entertaining way. The miniseries showcase(s) the thirty year period that changed the course of human history, documenting both World Wars and the interwar era in a continuous timeline from 1914 to 1945. The series takes a personality-driven approach, focusing on some of the key players of World War II (Hitler, Mussolini, Patton, Stalin, Churchill, Roosevelt), and chronicling how their experiences as younger men in the First World War shaped them into the leaders they became in World War II.
3. GANDHI
Very useful for every student (especially class 10). Unlike Bollywood movies that shows history packed with filmy dialogues and some non sense songs, this movie focuses more on serious content.
Gandhi is a 1982 epic biographical film which dramatises the life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the leader of India's non-violent, non-cooperative independence movement against the United Kingdom's rule of the country during the 20th century. Gandhi was written by John Briley and produced and directed by Richard Attenborough. It stars Ben Kingsley in the title role.
The film covers Gandhi's life from a defining moment in 1893, as he is thrown off a South African train for being in a whites-only compartment, and concludes with his assassination and funeral in 1948. Although a practising Hindu, Gandhi's embracing of other faiths, particularly Christianity and Islam, is also depicted.
A very vivid view of modern independent Indian history. This indigenous series tracks every event that matters in today's world. It covers some topics of class 8th history also and is quite entertaining as well.
5. Into the Universe
More than enough curiosity to offer to young scientific minds. This series is a major source of inspiration to many students who opt for Science streams.
